Mumbai: We are a month ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elecction and we have already witnessed a lot bollywood and television celebraties joining the political parties, whereas recently Shilpa Shinde winner of a reality show Big Boss Season 11 has joined Congress party led by Rahil Gandhi.
Shinde joined the party in the presence of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Sanjay Nirupam and other party leaders.
Speaking to ANI news agency Big Boss winner, Shilpa Shinde said, I have not joined the party for promotion, I have definitely joined the party to reach somewhere from where I can do something for the people. I can’t do it only by speaking so I have not joined for election promotion but for doing something better.”
Shinde made her television debut in 1999 but came to the spotlight for her role in STAR Plus’s soap opera Bhabhi (2002–08). Shinde is best known for playing Angoori Bhabhi in & TV’s sitcom Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai!. She quit the show in early 2016. In addition to her work in television, Shinde has acted in two Telugu films: Dasari Narayana Rao’s Chhina and Suresh Verma’s Shivani.
Earlier, bollywood actress Isha Koppikar joined BJP, in the presence of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
When asked about her choice joing Congress Shilpa said, Till now congress has run the government. A change we needed so we saw that too. It is important for the party to ensure that everything goes smoothly and everyone remains in peace and only the congress can run government peacefully.”
