Mumbai : India V/S Australia, Virat Kohli was booed by the crowd yesterday when he came out to bat yesterday on the opening day of the fourth Test Thursday, for which former Australian captain Ricky Ponting slammed the crowd said “show some respect.”
Virat Kohli, who came to bat after the fall of opener Mayank Agarwal, was given a mixed reception, while the fans of the Indians chanted his name, while some fans of Australia provoked the star batsman.
“If it was booing then it’s absolutely disgraceful,” Ponting said on Channel 7.
“I said that in the Perth Test as well. Show some respect.”
Kohli is leading Australian fans in all three Tests and Ponting and Australian batsman Trevis Head expressed their disappointment.
Kohli was dismissed for 23 in the first over after tea by Josh Hazlewood.
In the ongoing series in Australia, Kohli has scored 282 runs so far — he has the chance to add to his tally if India bat again in Sydney.
