Farmers Begin March Towards Parliament From Ramlila Maidan : 3,500 Cops Deployed

Mumbai : The protest of farmers around the country, who stayed at the Ramlila maidan since Thursday has started their walk to Parliament Street on Friday among heave policy distribution, to press for their demands, including debt relief and well-paid price for their produce.

Across 3,500 police officers are allotted on the route of the march. As per the senior police officer many arrangements are been done in Central and New Delhi police districts.

More than 850 police workforce, up to the rank of sub-inspectors, have been installed in the Central district. They have been increased by the presence of 12 police companies, including two women, each contain 75-80 officers, a police official said.

Wherein New Delhi there will be 346 police workforce, up to the rank of sub-inspectors, have been deployed and 600 officers from other district will also help them said the police official.

Other than that nine police companies with 71 officers, from the rank of the inspectors up to additional DCPs will also be present.

On Thursday all the farmers have come from the different part of the country. Like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh came together to Ramlila maidan

Because of the march the traffic of Delhi got disturbed as the farmers walked through four different parts of the routes, starting with Anand Vihar, Nizamuddin, Bijwasan Railway station and Sabzi Mandi.

Beside this many farmers and agricultural workers from All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) which asserts them as an umbrella body of 207 organizations also participated in the march by various means of transport.

Even farmers from nearby areas coincided at Majnu ka Tila on the outskirts of Delhi said Kamla, an official of All India Kisan Sabha’s Delhi unit.

P Ayyakannu leader of National South Indian River Interlinking Agriculturalists Associated stated that around 1,200 members of the committee marched carrying skulls of the colleagues who committed suicide.

The group of farmers from Tamil Nadu have intimated to March naked if they are not allowed to go the Parliament on Friday. This farmers have also –protested on Jantar Mantar with the skulls of eight farmers who killed themselves overdue to losses.

Five gurdwara in Delhi region has decided to help farmers. Even student from various universities came out to support farmers in a large number. The rally also showed women farmer’s supporters who travelled from various regions of country.

Volunteers including doctors, lawyers, professors and artist, all came out in support of farmers. Around 600-700 volunteers of a solidarity group ‘Nation For Farmers’ marched with the protesters from the four assembly points.

AIKSCC was established under the patronage of All India Kisan sabha and other Left-affiliated farmer’s bodies in June 2017. Upcoming protests by farmers are held to be in states such as Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh for debt relief and remunerative prices.
