Mumbai: In another shocking incident, a 3-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a senior citizen in Trichy. 62-year-old accused has been identified as a Rethinam from Senthaneerpuram, has been arrested based on a complaint by the victim’s parents.
According to parents of victim On 6 January, the accused took their child at his home and sexually assaulted her. Later on which the police filed a case under the Prevention of Child Protection Act against sexual assault against Rathinam.
He was booked under the recently revised Section 376 (AB) of the POCSO Act, in which the accused had been recommended rigorous imprisonment for not less than 20 years. The accused was then remanded to judicial custody.

According to NCRB 2015 statistics, Madhya Pradesh has the highest raw number of rape reports among Indian states, while Jodhpur in Rajasthan has the highest per capita rate of rape reports in cities followed by Delhi the capital city.
